Automotive industry
Mica is used as lightweight composite structures and thermal runaway protection components that enhance safety, thermal stability, and efficiency of power battery systems used in electric vehicles. It is also used for its pearlescent effects on vehicle paints.

Mica is used as high-performance thermal barriers, insulation, pressure relief, and fire-retardant components to detect, contain, and suppress thermal runaway in power battery systems.

Industrial & household applications
Mica is used for high-performance insulation materials and protective components of power generators and household electrical appliances. The reflective properties of ground mica make it a valued ingredient in cosmetic products.
Mica is a group of hydrous aluminum silicate minerals known for their unique layered structure, which allows them to cleave into thin sheets. The two main types found in Madagascar are phlogopite, which currently accounts for more than 90% of the mica produced and exported in Madagascar, and muscovite.
Produced mainly in southern Madagascar. Ranging in color from golden brown to amber with dark and light shades. Phlogopite can withstand severe thermal conditions up to 1000 °C at peak temperatures without disintegrating. It also withstands repeated thermal shocks better than muscovite.
In Madagascar, it is found in mines in the central and eastern regions. It is colorless and transparent material. Muscovite sheets are used as electrical insulators and scraps are used for its reflective properties in paints and cosmetics.
